Low cost Model House
 

Housing is an important sector of development.The poor people normally build their houses with indigenous materials which are mostly short-lived and those can hardly stand against the cyclones and other types of natural calamities. LGED has developed three model houses with minimum provision of reinforced concrete.The main features of the Low Cost Model Houses developed by LGED are:

Low  Cost  Mud  Model House(Vault Roof) at Baria, Kushtia.

Model House 1: A semi-pucca house of framed structure made with pre-cast footings,columns,grade beams,roof beams,rib beams and two pieces of pre-cast ferro cement roof slab.It is a one roomed house with tarza mat walling.The tatal plinth area of the house is 11.60 sq.m with an estimated cost of Tk 18000.

Model House 2: A pucca house of framed structure made with pre-cast footing,columns,grade beams,roof beams,rib beams and two pieces of pre-cast ferro cement roof slab.It is a one roomed house with 3 inch brick wall.The total plinth area of the house is 11.60 sq.m with an estimated cost of Tk 23650.

Model House 3: A pucca house of framed structure made with pre-cast footing,columns,grade beams and two pieces of cast-in-situ RCC thin roof slab.It is a one roomed house with 3 inch brick wall with flash pointing,timber door and steel window.The plinth area of the house is 13 sq.m with an estimated cost of Tk 19500.
