Low Cost Pile   Soil of Bangladesh is predominantly loose deposit resulting in poor bearing capacity to sustain the load of a heavy structure.It is a general practice in our country to improve poor bearing capacity by compacting the sub-soil strata using compaction piles like low cost timber pile.But timber piles have some severe disadvantages on reliability regarding quality,longevity,driving upto design length and improvement of soil bearing capacity.

LGED has developed Low Cost RCC Pile.This low cost pile takes care of all the deficiencies of the timber pile and also possesses additional advantages compared to cast-in-situ and prestressed piles required for the same nature of sub-soil strata.This can be used as compaction pile as well as load bearing pile having capacity upto 10 to 12 Tons.

For small stuctures,the scope of application of this pile is very wide.Manufacture and use of this newly evolved RCC pile will contribute significantly towards improving quality of construction work.It can be locally produced and used widely as the technology is quite simple.This pile will provide a much better alternative to the timber piles which are being widely used.
