Comments of the evaluation Report on organization and Management of LGED by MANCAP

The Study Report prepared under the Management Capability Strenthening Project of LGED with assistance from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) December, 1995 includes the following positve comments about LGED:

• LGED is generally considered as effective and successful in the implementation of the tasks assigned.
• The strengths of LGED lie in team work, field orientation dynamic leadership, hard work, informal decision making, emphasis on training and management of external relationship.
• LGED's role and tasks have been widend by including new areas and the work load has grown very significantly over the years.
• Unlike most other government organization in the country, LGED makes a very extensive use of Computer related technology.
• Engineering is the stronger side of LGED.
• LGED is now reaching maturity and entering a new phase in it's development when it is important to consolidate and even further strengthen organization to achieve excellence.
• The study has also identified a few areas of LGED where improvements are to be made.
